IVAO - de International Virtual Aviation Organisation - is een gratis service voor mensen die het leuk vinden om deel uit te maken van een wereldwijde on-line luchtvaartsimulatie gemeenschap. IVAO Nederland is de Nederlandse divisie van deze internationale organisatie.
IVAO wil de gemeenschap voorzien van een zo realistisch mogelijke virtuele luchtvaartomgeving, inclusief een real-time systeem voor het online vliegen (als piloot) en ATC (als verkeersleider). IVAO Nederland organiseert regelmatig trainingen en evenementen om met velen tegelijk online samen te komen.
Je kunt je gratis aanmelden en meedoen! Je kunt je daarna ontwikkelen om meer kennis op te doen en/of meedoen aan grote evenementen.

Dear IVAO Family, We are slowly approaching the end of the year and would therefore like to thank you all for your continuing trust and support! Our aim is to deliver an open and free-to-use, community-based aviation environment, built on the foundations of education and the best flight simulation network, that inspires the next generation of aviation enthusiasts and professionals from around the world to achieve their dreams. Een aanmoediging voor piloten om terug te komen in onze divisie en daarmee onze controllers aan het werk te houden. Het gaat ons beter de ruimte geven om speciale evenementen rondom tours te organiseren. Daarnaast moet het ons evenement departement een meer gestroomlijnde processen opleveren in de ontwikkeling van toekomstige tours. De looptijd van alle tours blijft 1 jaar. Wij hopen dat dit nieuwe format een boost zal geven aan populariteit van onze tours en onze FIR’s. Over the coming weeks we’ll have several exciting announcements coming up. Today we start with the first one. Back in May of this year we announced the completion of the AS1+ course on our Moodle. We’ve seen a significant increase in controllers at EHAM. Last month the amount of hours logged on EHAM_DEL and EHAM_N_GND were the same, before the release of AS1+ EHAM_DEL was almost never online. Overall the amount of hours controlled in the FIR increased a lot too. Based on that success we’re releasing the AS2+ rating on our Moodle system today. The AS2+ course focuses on the Ground Position at Schiphol. Covering Pushback, Ground Movement and a little bit of planning duties involved with being a controller on Ground. In order to gain access to the AS2+ course the AS1+ course must first be finished. Our system will then automatically enroll you for the AS2+ course. After completing the course and achieving the AS2 rating on IVAO, you will be derestricted for EHAM_N_GND. We’ve not received much negative feedback to our AS1+ course or our plans for the future for ATC in EHAA. We’d like to remind you all that our door is always open for feedback or reactions. Leg 6 voert ons van vliegveld EHHV Hilversum, dwars door de EHAM Schiphol CTR, via vliegveld EHMM Middenmeer naar EHKD Den Helder/De Kooy. Dit is een van de langste etappes en misschien wel de leukste, omdat we proberen het luchtruim van Schiphol te doorkruisen met een 'mid-field crossing'. Mogelijk maken we zelfs een paar rondjes om de verkeerstoren voor wat sightseeing. Dit belooft veel plezier, zeker wanneer de toren bemand wordt door IVAO Netherlands en er het nodige verkeer van en naar de luchthaven gaat.
